Our Jerome Maintenance Shop Manager performs both minor and major repairs on all types of trucks, trailers and forklifts. In this position you will provide leadership to individuals at our Jerome location as well as at other locations who are responsible for the care and maintenance of trucks and forklifts.
The successful applicant will be an individual who is ready to jump in and take responsibility for the care and maintenance of the Company’s fleet through direct action and indirect influence. You will trouble shoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all types of trucks, trailers and forklifts in the Company’s fleet of rolling stock throughout the Company’s High Desert Region. As such, you must be an experienced, working mechanic who enjoys digging in and doing the work. At the same time, you should enjoy communicating with operators throughout the region and use that opportunity to learn about the equipment. You will supervise the work of other mechanics who work in this location from time to time and become familiar with the work of third-party mechanics hired to perform work throughout the region.
Does this describe you?
Thorough knowledge and experience with but not limited to hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drive trains and various hand tools.
Effectively communicate by providing accurate, meaningful, courteous and timely responses to questions or concerns.
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations.
Prioritize tasks and work well independently.
High school diploma or equivalent & own master tool set.
Minimum two-year degree necessary in heavy truck and/or equipment mechanics at the vocational level, and a minimum of five years of experience working in heavy truck and forklift mechanics in the field.
Hold a current Commercial Driver License (CDL) and medical card
